Why we publish this

Scammers often pretend to be real businesses. They use a name, photos and films to trick people into paying money or handing over personal and financial details, a trick known as phishing. We want you to know how Manmadecinematics really works, so you can spot anyone who is not us.

How we really work

  • Our only contact details are the ones on this website: hi@manmadecinematics.com and +91 9999692665. If a message comes from another address or number, check with us before you act on it.
  • We never ask you to pay a fee to apply for work, join a crew, receive a booking or collect a prize.
  • We never ask for card numbers, PINs, passwords or one-time codes, by email, by phone or through the contact form.
  • Prices and payment terms are set out in a written quote or agreement. We do not ask for money before there is one. See the payment policy.
  • We do not run lotteries, prize draws or giveaways, and we do not ask people to claim winnings.

Common scams to watch for

  • Fake booking or deposit. Someone claiming to be us, or a client of ours, asks you to send an advance or "deposit" to an account that is not on a quote you received from us.
  • Changed bank details. An email or message says our payment details have changed and asks you to pay a new account. Always confirm by phone using the number on this website before paying.
  • Fake jobs and crew calls. Unsolicited offers of pilot, editor or assistant work that ask for personal documents or a fee for registration, equipment or training.
  • Fake brand deals. Offers of paid sponsorship or collaboration that require you to pay for products, fees or insurance first.
  • Fake licensing or copyright demands. A message that says you have used our footage and must pay immediately through a link. If you are unsure, contact us directly.
  • Fake websites and social accounts. Copies of this site or of our profiles that use our films and name to collect money or details.

How to check

  • Look at the sender's address carefully. Small spelling changes are a common trick.
  • Contact us using the details on this website, not the ones in the message you received.
  • Look for spelling and grammar mistakes, urgent deadlines and pressure to act quickly.
  • Check the website address before you enter any information. Our website is www.manmadecinematics.com.
  • If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you think you are being scammed

  • Stop talking to the sender and do not pay, click links or open attachments.
  • If you have already paid or shared bank or card details, contact your bank straight away.
  • In India, report cyber fraud at cybercrime.gov.in or call the helpline 1930. Elsewhere, contact your local police or national cybercrime agency.
  • Forward the message or details of the scam to hi@manmadecinematics.com so we can report the misuse of our name.

Our own response

We take the misuse of our name and work seriously and will report fake accounts, websites and messages to the platforms and authorities where we can. If you are unsure whether a message really came from us, ask. We would much rather you check than lose money.
